My company is active in bot development and my team supports that work. This book is a great overview of the current commercial bot space, and associated Do's and Dont's for starting into bot development. However, it is NOT a technical manual on the software or the AI behind bots. The book information online does suggest this but if you are new to bots you may not realize that fact. The book is best for general management audiences that are interested in understanding how to manage a new bot development initiative. Developers or data scientists will need to look elsewhere for the technical details.
Extremely helpful and useful book on how to design intelligent agents, or "bots". The book is clearly structured, providing context and background on what bots are, which platforms and channels they are deployed on and what use-cases there. Case studies are supplemented by color images, which is always a plus and chapters 14-19 provide clear step-by-step guidelines on designing your first bot. Highly recommend this for those new to bots and is also a helpful guide for designers and entrepreneurs building tools for messaging.
A surprisingly good read for an O’Reilly book. By that I mean this book is actually something you can sit down and read instead of just a great reference book.
The amount of thought put into getting conversational interfaces right is simply mindblowing. This book is a great book for any product manager who doesn't want to make the classic mistakes that most people make when designing conversational interfaces.
Very helpful. Read the book before joining the project about writing chatbots, get lots of useful advices on how to design (and how NOT TO design) a thing. Absolutely needed to management and sellers to understand the field, useful for developers who don't want just to code but want to undertand what's going on and whether the code they produce make any sense. Recommended the book to the whole team
